Workshop connects veterans with agriculture opportunities
New Hampshire veterans seeking information about starting an agricultural business will benefit from an upcoming workshop hosted by UNH Cooperative Extension on Saturday, Sept. 15.


DEERING, NH — New Hampshire veterans seeking information about starting an agricultural business will benefit from an upcoming workshop hosted by UNH Cooperative Extension on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at D&R Farm, 24 Manselville Road, Deering.
During the workshop, veterans and service members transitioning into civilian life will hear stories from other veterans who have started successful agricultural businesses. Donn Mann of D&R Farm will share his own story about how he went from the military and into farming, the resources he needed and the challenges he overcame to make his business successful.
The program also includes a discussion of farm risk management practices, as well as a panel discussion on future educational programming for veterans interested in agriculture with members of the NH Veterans in Agriculture group.
The workshop is free and participants are invited to bring family members and fellow veterans and service members. A light lunch will be provided. Register online at bit.ly/2N8xHjo.
