MANCHESTER, NH – A woman accused of a January arson on Silver Street was sentenced to serve 3-6 years in state prison.

Manchester Police Chief Carlo Capano and Manchester Fire Chief Daniel Goonan released information on Wednesday regarding the conviction following a lengthy joint investigation.

On January 30, 2019 around 9 a.m. the Manchester Fire Department received multiple calls for a structure fire at 279 Silver St.  When firefighters arrived, the front entrance of the multifamily apartment building was on fire. Manchester Police and Fire immediately began collecting information and investigating to determine the origin and cause of the fire.

A passerby in the area at the time of the fire was able to provide investigators with valuable dash-cam footage that ultimately allowed investigators to identify and arrest Dezereih Regan-Gionet, 23.

On August 2, 2019, just days prior to her trial, Gionet pled guilty to felony arson in Hillsborough County Superior Court – North.  She was subsequently sentenced to 3-6 years in New Hampshire State Prison and ordered to pay $3,200 in restitution.

Multiple agencies contributed to this investigation to include the Manchester Police Department Patrol and Detective divisions as well as their Gang unit, the Manchester Fire Department Fire Marshal’s Office, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) – Manchester Field Office, ATF’s National Laboratory Center in Beltsville, Maryland as well as the Hillsborough County Attorney’s Office.
