Woman charged with DUI after I-93 crash, police seek more information
A Manchester woman was arrested for aggravated driving while intoxicated after causing a crash that destroyed her SUV on Friday.
HOOKSETT, NH — A woman was seriously injured when she crashed her SUV near Exit 11 on I-93 during rush hour, and has been charged with driving while intoxicated.
New Hampshire State Police say Sarah Harzmovitch, 28, of Manchester, lost control of her 2005 Chevy Trailblazer just before 5 p.m., striking two other vehicles and a cement Jersey barrier. Preliminary investigation by police determined that Harzmovitz lost control due to excessive speed and unsafe lane changes, causing her SUV to collide with the other vehicles before crashing.
Harzmovitch was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. Police said the SUV was destroyed in the crash and was towed from the scene, and the accident caused northbound travel along I-93 to be reduced to one lane for about an hour while the scene was cleared.
She was arrested for aggravated driving while intoxicated. She was released on $5,000 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on August 5, in Hooksett Circuit Court.
