A familiar name in NH politics, John DiStaso, joins WMUR to provide on-air political coverage as the political season heats up.

MANCHESTER, NH – A familiar name in New Hampshire politics will soon become a familiar face to viewers of WMUR News 9.
WMUR-TV announced Tuesday that they’ve hired veteran political journalist John DiStaso to join its political team.
DiStaso will work with Political Director Josh McElveen and political reporter Adam Sexton to provide the station’s Commitment 2016 political coverage as NH primary season gets underway.
“We have a historic and exciting presidential primary season ahead of us, and across the country all eyes are on New Hampshire,” DiStaso said. “But the most important audience is the one right here in the Granite State. I’m thrilled to be a part of the WMUR team delivering breaking political news and analysis to the voters.”
DiStaso most recently served as News Editor for the New Hampshire Journal. Prior to that, for more than 30 years he worked as lead political reporter for the New Hampshire Union Leader.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed the past year at the New Hampshire Journal and appreciate the opportunity there, but it is now time to move on and be part of the best political news team in New Hampshire.”
DiStaso has appeared on television multiple times as a panel journalist in several nationally televised presidential primary debates as well as in many WMUR / Union Leader Granite State Debates. He has covered every New Hampshire Presidential Primary since 1980.
DiStaso will officially join the News 9 team beginning April 6 and can then be reached and followed on Twitter: @jdistaso.
