MANCHESTER, NH – Police filed the following three incident reports for crimes which happened on Oct. 20, 2018, including a report of gunfire resulting in damage to a barbershop, theft from vehicles in the area of Hillhaven Road and an arrest, and a fight outside of Red Arrow Diner that resulted in an officer being injured and two people in custody.

Driscoll

Manchester Police responded to a suspicious person call at 1:30 a.m. in the area of 121 Mayflower Drive. Police Sgt. Derek Sullivan checked the area and spotted a man walking on Patricia Lane near Hillhaven Road, so he reversed direction and attempted to speak with the man.

The man, later identified as Kevin Driscoll, 46, of Manchester, quickly walked away from the officer’s police car and eventually concealed himself behind bushes in a yard on Hillhaven Road. Sgt. Sullivan exited his vehicle and convinced the man to step out of the bushes to speak with him.

Driscoll, who resides in the 400 block of Pine Street, could not provide a legitimate reason for being in the area, so he was charged with loitering/prowling. Sgt. Sullivan located business checks, a woman’s license, several cell phones, credit cards, and loose change behind the bushes Driscoll was hiding in prior to speaking with the officer.

Officers spoke with the owner of the business checks and the owner of the license, who both confirmed the items were inside of their respective vehicles earlier in the night. Driscoll was charged with two-counts receiving stolen property and one count falsifying physical evidence. He was released on personal recognizance bail.

Cecere

An officer sustained a serious injury to his hand while making an arrest outside the Red Arrow Diner at 2:45 a.m.

Officers William Dann and Justin Hood were assisting units with a motor vehicle stop in the rear of the Red Arrow Diner when they heard a commotion in the front of the restaurant. The officers ran toward the front of the building and observed a group of men fighting, so they attempted to break up the fight between Cody Cecere, 26, and Connor Merchant, 23, both of Manchester, as several others fled the area.

Merchant

The men refused to comply as officers attempted to break-up the fight.

Officer Dann pulled Merchant from Cecere, but Cecere refused to stop fighting, and continued to pull away from the officer as Officer Dann transitioned him to the ground to place him into custody.

Merchant was charged with resisting arrest/detention and disorderly conduct. He was released on personal recognizance bail and scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on November 27, 2018.

Officer Hood sustained a serious injury to his hand as he placed Cecere into custody.

Cecere was charged with resisting arrest/detention (felony) and disorderly conduct. He was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court on November 8, 2018.
