MANCHESTER, NH – Several Queen City teams continued successful starts to their seasons, while others struggled to find success on the hardwood and on the ice.
Girls basketball
– Jan. 7 – Manchester Memorial 40, Timberlane 67
Traveling to Plaistow, Memorial kept the contest tight against Timberlane. Paced by 12 points from Avery Jenkins, the Crusaders offense also saw contributions from Jenavyzia Collazo and Kianaly Gallego Rodriguez, who each provided seven markers, and Taylor Angerami, who had five points.
– Jan. 10 – Manchester Memorial 14, Bedford 67
Competing at home against defending champion Bedford, the Crusaders battled but couldn’t keep up with the Kate Allard (17 points) and the rabid Bulldogs. Memorial was led by Avery Jenkins, who netted 7 points, while Jenavyzia Collazo, Jaelyn Hartford, Taylor Angerami and Kelly Legalo also contributed to the scoring.
