MANCHESTER, NH – The Manchester Health Department, along with the Makin’ It Happen Regional Substance Misuse Network, are holding a community meeting May 13 from 9-11 a.m. to address the epidemic of substance misuse disorders which are plaguing our communities.

Together, with Hope for NH Recovery, a coalition of community organizations are currently embarking on the creation of a blueprint for action based on a comprehensive approach to environmental strategies, prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery from substance use disorders in the Greater Manchester Region.

In order to do that, public input and participation is needed.

Opening remarks will be given by Tym Rourke, chairman of the Governor’s Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention, Intervention and Treatment. Experts along the full Continuum of Care will also be present to discuss current trends and real time data to provide full understanding of the substance use tragedy in our region. The remainder of the meeting will be a topic discussion with those in attendance, on ways we can create change, save lives and become a healthier Greater Manchester Region.

Substance Misuse Disorders have become a true public health concern for all NH residents. RSPV by May 6 to DevProCyndi@hotmail.com
