Shurtleff is Dem nominee for Speaker of the House
The final vote on Speaker of the House will take place on December 5. Nominee for Speaker Shurtleff will appoint the House Majority Leader in the coming weeks.
CONCORD, NH — On November 15, in their first meeting since the November 6 election, the new majority NH House Democrats caucus nominated Representative Steve Shurtleff for Speaker of the House.
A resident of Pennacook, representing Merrimack 11, Shurtleff previously served as House majority leader from 2012 to 2014. He was first elected to the NH House in 2004.
The other candidate for Speaker, Renny Cushing of Hampton, moved to make the nomination unanimous.
