Seabrook woman charged with homicide in death of neighbor
The Attorney General’s office says Catrina Costello deliberately ran down her neighbors and their dog, resulting in the death of Stephen VanDalinda and his dog, and seriously injuring his wife, Erin.


CONCORD, NH — A Seabrook woman has been charged with second-degree murder in the homicide death of her neighbor.

At approximately 6:20 p.m., on August 29, 2018, the Seabrook Police Department responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving pedestrians on Pine Street in Seabrook.
The investigation has revealed that Catrina Costello, 38, struck two pedestrians, Erin and Stephen VanDalinda, and their dog, with her pick-up truck. The collision resulted in the death of Mr. VanDalinda, 64. Mrs. VanDalinda, 61, suffered numerous serious injuries and remains hospitalized. Their dog also died as a result of her injuries.
An autopsy was performed Thursday on Mr. VanDalinda at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Mr. VanDalinda’s cause of death was blunt impact injuries to the head, trunk, and
extremities and the manner of his death was homicide.
Ms. Costello was arrested Aug. 30, charged with second-degree murder (RSA 630:1-b, I(b)), for recklessly causing the death of another under circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life, in that Ms. Costello aimed her motor vehicle at a pedestrian, Stephen VanDalinda, and accelerated the vehicle at Mr. VanDalinda, striking him with her motor vehicle, after which Ms. Costello did not stop her motor vehicle, said acts causing Mr. VanDalinda’s death.
