MANCHESTER, NH – School Superintendent Jenn Chmiel on Thursday announced the passing of Webster Elementary School Principal Jenny Lynch. A memo was sent to parents.
“It is with deep regret that we inform you about a recent loss to our school community. Mrs. Jenny Lynch, who has been on medical leave from her role as principal at Webster School, passed away today. This loss is sure to raise many emotions, concerns, and questions for our entire school district community, especially our students,” wrote Chmiel.
Lynch, 46, had been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019 and in 2023 learned that the cancer had metastasized to her bones and liver.
She was a hometown girl and product of Manchester Schools, having grown up on the West Side. Lynch joined the school district in 2019, previously serving as assistant principal at Green Acres Elementary School. Prior to that, Lynch spent most of her career teaching in Brookline. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Rivier College and her certificate of advanced graduate studies at New England College.
Chmiel informed school families that a team of grief counselors are available to anyone who may feel the need for assistance.
