Saint Anselm remains winless after Ohio trip
Saint Anselm fell to 0-5 on the year following a 55-6 drubbing at the hands of Tiffin on Saturday.


TIFFIN, Ohio – Saint Anselm fell to 0-5 on the year following a 55-6 drubbing at the hands of Tiffin on Saturday.
Senior quarterback Eric Fairweather (Londonderry, N.H.) provided the only Saint Anselm touchdown of the day, a three-yard run with 5:07 left in regulation. Sophomore kicker Joey Cody found his extra-point attempt blocked, following a blocked field goal attempt early in the second quarter and a 36-yard attempt that sailed wide 3:33 before the half.
Fairweather finished the day with 14 carries for 41 yards while completing 19-of-41 passes for 206 yards. Senior wide receiver Nicholas Fiorillo (Westford, Mass.) led the way with 10 catches for 102 yards, recording his second 100-yard performance of the season. Junior Charles Elliott (Memphis, Tenn.) caught four passes for 57 yards.
The Saint Anselm attack was easily overshadowed by Tiffin redshirt junior quarterback Nick Watson (Cincinnati, Ohio), leading the Dragons to 604 total yards on the day.
Watson completed 24 of 39 passes for 330 passing yards, with five passing touchdowns against zero interceptions, with redshirt junior Devin Butler (District Heights, Md.) and senior Stanley Jackson Jr. (Columbus, Ohio) combing for 203 receiving yards and three of Tiffin’s five scores through the air.
Redshirt junior JaQuan (Westlake, Ohio) led all rushers with 126 yards on 16 carries, but did not contribute any of Tiffin’s three running touchdowns.
Saint Anselm returns to Grappone Stadium on Saturday, October 12th (6 p.m.), as they host the New Haven Chargers (3-2) in the last scheduled evening game this year.
