Police send SWAT, close down area around Dutton Street after report of shots fired
Manchester Police are investigating reports of shots fired in the area of 28/29 Dutton Street.


MANCHESTER, NH – Police are investigating an incident in the area of 28/29 Dutton St. Monday involving a report of gunshots.
UPDATE: Police say no evidence of gunfire on Dutton Street
At approximately 4:25 p.m. on May 27 members of the Manchester Police Department responded to the area of Dutton and Concord streets for the report of an argument and shots being fired. Officers spoke with several people and those who called for assistance. Police learned no one was injured in the incident and no arrest was made.
At 4:45 p.m. Manchester police sent out a warning via Nixle to residents in the general area of Dutton Street that there was police activity and residents should “stay inside” if they lived nearby.

Heavy police presence was visible on Dutton, Concord, Derry and Chester Streets, with several cruisers, SWAT, and the Bearcat.
Birthday party balloons were tied outside a doorway where officers armed with long guns could be seen.
As of 6:45 p.m. police lifted the warning to neighbors, but several police vehicles remained at the scene, with some roads still blocked off. Police sent out a message just before 6 p.m. stating there was no danger to the public.
