Police: Man stabbed by victim charged with burglary after alleged forced entry

MANCHESTER, NH – Police arrested Doniel Sackey, 33, of Manchester Nov. 1 after he allegedly attempted to enter a residence that was not his, and suffered a stab wound by the resident.

At approximately 3 a.m. on Nov. 1 Officer Meghan Grant was patrolling the area of Union Street and Lake Avenue when she heard a commotion coming from the rear of 236 Lake Avenue.

As Officer Grant approached the doorway she came upon Doniel Sackey, 33, of Manchester, who was bleeding from his hand. Sackey claimed he had been stabbed by a resident of the apartment. The resident, Miguel Ramos, 22, told Officer Grant that he had walked home minutes before when Sackey approached him in the alley outside of his home. He claimed Sackey, who was a stranger to him, allegedly asked him for money, so he gave him a small amount of cash and continued walking to his apartment.

Ramos claimed that Sackey allegedly followed him to his apartment and attempted to walk into his house, and stuck his foot in the door to wedge it open while refusing to leave. Ramos said he attempted to get Sackey out of the doorway, but he refused to leave, so he grabbed a knife and admitted to swinging the knife in an attempt to scare away Sackey, cutting Sackey’s hand. Sackey was transported to Catholic Medical Center for treatment to his non-life-threatening wound.

Sackey was charged with burglary. He will appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on November 2, 2015.

Ramos was not charged in the incident.
