DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Southern New Hampshire University’s women’s basketball program began the final weekend of the calendar year on a good note, , defeating Mercy on Saturday night, 82-41.

SNHU never trailed their hosts, opening up an 18-8 lead after the first quarter that grew to 54 points at its zenith.

After obtaining just one basket in the third quarter, Mercy more than doubled their tally in the fourth quarter, outscoring SNHU 23-14. However, the contest had over for a while by that point, with the 41-point margin of victory serving as the largest for the Penmen since Dec. 10, 2012, when they defeated Mercy by 47 points.

Senior Kylie Lorenzen (Holliston, Mass.) amassed a game-high 27 points, with senior Brianna Camara (Fall River, Mass.) also ending in double digits with 14 points and a career-high six steals.
