Patrick Arnold says he will ‘advocate for authentic change’ as mayor

MANCHESTER, NH – Former Alderman Patrick Arnold filed his declaration of candidacy for the office of Mayor of Manchester Monday morning, making official his second bid for mayor.
Arnold challenged Mayor Ted Gatsas in the 2013 mayoral election, losing by fewer than 1,000 votes.
“I’m running for mayor of Manchester because the people of our city deserve better than the status quo and business as usual at City Hall. Over the last several years especially, our city has suffered from the timidity and ineffectiveness of the current administration. Drug activity and violent crime remain out of control. Opportunities for progress continue to be squandered. Taxpayers continue to seek a better return for their tax dollars,” said Arnold.
“While others will offer merely the illusion of change, I will be advocating for authentic change to meet our city’s challenges head on,” Arnold continued.
Arnold served as a Manchester Alderman from 2009 until 2014. In March 2014, the Manchester Board of Aldermen unanimously confirmed Arnold’s appointment to the city’s Conduct Committee. An attorney by trade, Arnold earned his law degree at the University of New Hampshire School of Law. He and his wife, Kathy, have a daughter, Abigail.
Arnold was one of four candidates who filed to run in the September primary election. Also filing Monday were Joyce Craig, Jawed Alibaba Sheikh, and Mayor Ted Gatsas. Glenn Ouellette has announced his intention to file.
