The Manchester Monarchs three-game winning streak concluded on Saturday with a 1-0 defeat to the South Carolina Stingrays.

MANCHESTER, N.H – The Manchester Monarchs three-game winning streak concluded on Saturday with a 1-0 defeat to the South Carolina Stingrays.
Paul Geiger scored the contest’s only goal with 3:22 left in the first period. Geiger set up at the crease, finding the back of the net after Tim McGauley gathered a rebound from Steven Whitney’s initial slapshot near the right-hand faceoff circle.
Both teams combined to go 0-for-12 on the power play, with 41 minutes of time in the box between the two sides include a ten-minute game misconduct for South Carolina defenseman Marcus Perrier after he abused officials in the second period.
Manchester netminder Charles Williams completed the night with 28 saves, while South Carolina goaltender Parker Milner ended the night with 22 saves en route to his second shutout in four games.
With the loss, Manchester (28-16-3-1) are now just two points ahead of Adirondack in the race for the ECHL North Division’s top spot.
