Officer, two others, injured in cruiser-involved crash

MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester Police Officer Mark Aquino was working the evening of March 9 when his cruiser was rear-ended in a three-vehicle crash. The crash took place approximately 11 p.m. in the area of South Willow Street and Goffs Falls Road.

The officer was stopped at a traffic light behind a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze, which was operated by Pranesh Basnet, 23, of Manchester. Officer Aquino was struck by a 2001 Mercury Villager, operated by Rene Paris, 57, of Manchester. Mr. Paris crashed into the rear end of the 2011 Crown Victoria cruiser, which caused the officers cruiser to strike the rear of the Chevrolet Cruze.

Mr. Paris was at fault for the crash, which may have totaled at least one of the three vehicles. The extent of injuries are unknown at this time.
