No outages reported in Manchester, as snow continues to fall
Snow continues to fall in New Hampshire with no local power outages. Here’s an update from the city’s Emergency Operation Center.

MANCHESTER, NH – Snow has arrived and continues to come down at a pretty good clip. Whether it goes down in history as a storm of the century “of Biblical proportions” remains to be seen, but the view from my porch in Manchester is not that scary. Yet.
At 7 a.m. the city opened the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) at Central Fire Station, 100 Merrimack St., operating at a staffing level 2 which includes representatives from city departments along with Public Service of New Hampshire (PSNH). The EOC will continue to be staffed for the duration of the storm.
Manchester Transit Authority (MTA) suspended public transportation operations at 9:30 a.m January 27, and will resume normal operations January 28 at 5 a.m.
City residents can call the EOC at 668-1547 to report down tree limbs, wires and power outages. Residents with life-threatening emergencies should call 9-1-1.
According to the National Weather Service, New Hampshire will likely see a range of accumulation, up to about 24 inches.
The video footage above includes crews removing snow from the East Side Plaza parking lot on Hanover St., the view driving down Hanover Street, and then driving south on Elm Street, as of about 7:30 a.m.
By 11 a.m. the snow was still falling and there were minimal outages across the state reported by Public Service of New Hampshire – about 34 total, in Grantham and Middleton.
A snow emergency remains in effect through Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 12 p.m. City residents are encouraged to stay off city streets to allow roads to be cleared by the Department of Public Works.
The city is operating with “essential” personal only. City Hall is closed today in addition to all other city departments.
