HOOKSETT, NH – State Police have yet to identify the driver who perished in a crash near the Hooksett Tolls Friday.

On April 6, 2018 at approximately 2:50 p.m., the NH State Police received  a report of a motor vehicle accident on Interstate  93 South, just south of the Hooksett Tolls.  Troopers from the Troops B, D and G responded to the scene along with the Hooksett Fire Department and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.  Once on scene, Troopers confirmed that a passenger vehicle and a disabled tractor-trailer were involved in the crash.

Troopers observed a 2003 Peterbilt Tractor Trailer bearing Missouri Registration 36AP4N in the breakdown lane.  The Peterbilt was owned and operated by Abbas Al-Ramahi, 55, Independence, Missouri.

A white Chevy Tahoe, no license plates attached, had crashed into the rear of the tractor-trailer unit.  Investigators are still trying to identify the driver of the Chevy.

A preliminary investigation revealed the Chevy was traveling south on Interstate 93, and crashed into the rear of the disabled tractor-trailer. The driver of the Tahoe was declared dead at the scene. Al-Ramahi not injured.

Two lanes of Interstate 93 South were  shutdown for approximately 3-½ hours while crews attempted to separate the vehicles, and remove the driver from the Chevy Tahoe.  The New Hampshire Department of Transportation assisted with traffic control and direction.

Anyone that may have further information related to this crash is urged to  contact Trooper Travis Merritt  at 603-666-3333 or via email at travis.merritt@dos.nh.gov
