BEDFORD, NH – The Manchester Monarchs are part of the greater Manchester community and know that hockey isn’t the only thing that matters to the fans or surrounding area.  On Tuesday night the team took part in a rally for the Bedford Little League, as their concession stand and clubhouse were vandalized over the weekend.  This was the second time the Bedford fields have been vandalized in the past year.

Monarchs players Zac Larazza, Derek Arnold and Alex Roach were on hand to help donate $500 from the Monarchs organization to help the clean-up effort, and Max was able to bring smiles to the faces of the Little Leaguers in attendance.

“It’s too bad what happened here,” Monarchs forward Derek Arnold said.  “I’m just glad we were able to help lend our support to the Little League and the community.”

The event was attended by about 100 people, including representatives of Primary Bank, which started a bank account for the clean-up effort and will be taking donations at their Bedford location.  Also in attendance was Fungo from the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, and Bedford native and former Major League Baseball pitcher, Chris Carpenter.

Although the clubhouse was vandalized, the show of support from those in attendance displayed how much the town is behind the Bedford Little League, and that the community is always there to support one another.
