MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Manchester Monarchs concluded their latest homestand on Sunday afternoon with a 2-1 overtime win against the South Carolina Stingrays.

Manchester goaltender Branden Komm and South Carolina goaltender Jeff Jakaitis combined for 48 consecutive saved shots to begin the contest before Matt Leitner marked his first game in 2018 with a goal.

Leitner’s goal came 9:14 into the third period, but Taylor Cammarata’s top corner wrister would equalize the contest almost exactly two minutes later.

Manchester eked out the win thanks to Matt Marcinew’s goal 1:15 into the contest’s fourth period.

Adirondack defeated Norfolk earlier in the day, 5-2, keeping Manchester’s lead atop the ECHL North Division at two points.

The Monarchs are back in action on Thursday, February 15 (7 p.m.) at Bon Secours Wellness Arena to play the Greenville Swamp Rabbits in the first game of a three-game weekend for Manchester.
