Mom found unconscious from OD, 4-year-old passed out in backseat from heat inside parked minivan
Police believe the two were inside of the vehicle, with the windows rolled up, for at least an hour, with temperatures reaching 86 degrees.
MANCHESTER, NH – Manchester Police and Fire Department personnel responded to Wilson Street on May 15 for an overdose inside of a parked vehicle. They arrived to find a woman, unconscious in the driver’s seat of a 2012 minivan, and her 4-year-old son passed out in the back seat, the engine running with the keys in the ignition.
Sara Donlon, 34, of Dracut, Mass., had a hypodermic needle on her lap when she was removed from her vehicle, which was parked on Wilson Street, near Bell Street. Donlon was treated with two doses of Narcan while additional medical staff tended to the child.
Officers also located a small bag of heroin and a small bag of cocaine on Donlon who was placed into custody while her son was transported to a local hospital. The boy was medically cleared and ultimately placed in the custody of his father.
Police believe the two were inside of the vehicle, with the windows rolled up, for at least an hour, with temperatures reaching 86 degrees. Donlon was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol and endangering the welfare of a child. She was released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on June 6, 2018.
