Manchester Police responded to three separate robberies in the city this weekend, resulting in arrests.

MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester Police responded to three separate robberies in the city this weekend, resulting in arrests.
At 2:40 p.m. on Friday afternoon in the area of 230 Lowell Street, officers were dispatched for a possible stabbing. Officer Brett Fernald spoke with Brandie Jones, 26 of Manchester, and she stated her husband was involved in a fight with an unknown male before both parties fled the area.

Jones stated her husband, James Jones, 29 of Manchester, fled the scene because he had an active arrest warrant. Officers located Jones inside of his Concord Street residence a short time later and spoke with him about the alleged stabbing. He denied being stabbed and was checked out for minor abrasions as a result of a fist fight with the unknown Hispanic male. He stated the man robbed him and took over $200.00 during the altercation. Officers are following up on several leads and do not believe this is a random act of violence. Jones was placed into custody on the outstanding warrant.
The second robbery was reported at 4:25 p.m. on May 6 at 60 Rogers Street. Tom DeBlois, of Manchester, was seated in his office when an unknown masked male entered his office and pointed a handgun at him while demanding cash.

DeBlois relinquished his iPhone and wallet containing a large amount of cash. The man threw the wallet after removing the cash and then fled the scene on a Schwinn bicycle. DeBlois provided an excellent description of the man who was apprehended a short time later inside of a Somerville Street apartment complex.
Officer Guy Kozowyk spoke with the arrested subject; Jonathan Cassavant, 36, no fixed address inside of 638 Somerville Street, apartment #1. He located a BB gun (handgun), two masks and gloves inside of the apartment. However, he was unable to locate the cash or iPhone. Cassavant was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery (F). He will appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on May 9, 2016.
Manchester Police responded to a third robbery on Saturday, May 7, at 9:20 a.m.. The arrested subject; Jacob Mills, 36 of Manchester, allegedly exited the store with two items totaling less than $2.00. However, the owner Mohammed Nawaz blocked the exit and called police.

Mills allegedly pushed Nawaz and then proceeded to choke him with his hands. Nawaz stated he was unable to breath for several seconds. His friend, Iqbal Pervas was inside of the store and assisted in apprehending Mills. Officer Brett Fernald and Sergeant Eric Knight arrived on scene and arrested Mills. He was charged with Attempted Robbery (unarmed) and Contempt of Court. He will appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on May 9, 2016.
