Manchester High School West Navy JROTC Annual Inspection
The Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps unit helps develop strong and informed leaders for the future.
MANCHESTER, NH – On November 14, 2019, the Manchester High School West Navy JROTC had its Annual Inspection. Commander Jimmie Miller, USN (Ret) conducted the inspections.
The Manchester High School West Navy JROTC program was established at Manchester High School West in 1972 by the Secretary of the Navy. The Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps unit helps develop strong and informed leaders for the future. The program’s goal is to instill pride in our country, the Navy and the cadets as individuals. It encourages civic responsibility through participation in programs, projects and services within the school and local community.
There are two phases of the Annual Inspection. First, each cadet of the unit is inspected for Uniform appearance and bearing along with curriculum knowledge. The ceremonial phase follows where cadets are recognized for their accomplishments. A Pass in Review (Marching to show respect to inspecting officer), concludes the ceremony.
Commander Miller, is the NJROTC Area 4 Manager , which covers all of the NJROTC schools from Pennsylvanian to New England. Commander Miller served 27 years in the Navy, before retiring.
