Warm up at the El Nino Bonfire at Bedford Village Inn

MANCHESTER, NH — February is almost upon us and for many of us, this means three foodie events: the Super Bowl on February 7; Chinese New Year on February 8; and Valentine’s Day on February 14. And this year Valentine’s Day falls on a Sunday, so restaurants are gearing up for a super busy three-night stretch. Landmark restaurant returns. Robie’s Country Store Historic Preservation Corporation announced that Joshua and Amber Enright will be the new operators for Robie’s Country Store, in Hooksett. The Enrights are seasoned restaurateurs, previously owning Jewell and The Beanstalk in Manchester, Seedling Café in Nashua and Rustic Leaf in Milford. Robie’s will continue to serve breakfast and lunch and offer made in New Hampshire and specialty food items. Robie’s will re-open on Election Day, February 9, at 7 a.m.

Get cozy at Bedford Village Inn’s El Nino Bonfire, February 4-6, starting at 5:30 p.m. There will be ice luges, live music, food and cocktail specials. Admission is free.

Duck confit over fresh pappardelle at Waterworks Cafe

Not your average lunch menu: Waterworks Café, located in the Waumbec building, has new lunch and breakfast menus. Look for pappardelle duck confit ($11), smoky sweet potato enchiladas ($10) and jerk spiced shrimp ($11).

The Foundry now offers call-ahead seating. To minimize your waiting time, call (603) 836-1925 an hour before you plan to arrive, and the staff will quote you a wait time and add your name to the waiting list.

Funktion is taking reservations for Valentine’s Day. This Elm Street eatery is offering four courses with multiple options for each course and champagne cocktails, served from 4-9 p.m., priced at $90 per couple. The menu includes sirloin and potato Napolean, French onion soup and surf & turf. Call (603) 782-5365 for reservations.

The new Veranda Bar & Grille, located 201 Hanover St., in the former Chateau space, is also taking reservations for Valentine’s Day. Typically the restaurant is closed on Sundays but it is opening for the holiday.

Blueberry stuffed French toast at Bayona Cafe

Bayona Café, located in the Jefferson Mill, has new breakfast and lunch menus. In the morning, look for stuffed French toast ($8), falafel and egg sandwich ($6) and a selection of omelets. For lunch, check out the crispy eggplant sandwich on sourdough ($10), the Ahi tuna burger ($11) and shrimp scampi ($11).

February Festival   : A&E Roastery has a bunch of events happening in February, including a memorial lantern lighting and tea tasting on February 9, a latte art competition on February 11 and more. Check out the complete line-up here.

The Quill at SNHU is hosting a Valentine’s dinner on February 12, priced at $35 per person. Dinners are multiple courses, prix fixe with your choice. Dinner is served between 6 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. There is only one seating and reservations are strongly recommended. Note: a 15 percent fee will be added to your bill, a donation to the Culinary Scholarship Fund. You are welcome to leave a tip for the students, but it has to be cash. Also, The Quill has a full cash bar, but you are welcome to bring your own wine and there is no corking fee. Call (603) 629-4608 for details and reservations.
