Man wanted for murder in Mass., found in Manchester, charged as fugitive
A manhunt led authorities from Massachusetts to Manchester and ended with the arrest of Niko Bianco.
MANCHESTER, NH – Manchester Police Special Investigations Unit on Thursday assisted Essex State Police, Lawrence Police and Massachusetts State Police in locating and apprehending a man wanted in connection to a homicide in Lawrence, Mass., earlier this week.
The target of the investigation was identified as Niko Bianco, 22, of Amesbury, Mass., who was arrested without incident Thursday in the area of Lake and Wilson streets by Manchester officers. Bianco is a suspect in the murder of Ellis J. Wright, 48, of Lynn, Mass., who was found dead in a Lawrence, Mass., parking lot on June 18.
Bianco was arraigned in Manchester Circuit Court Friday as a fugitive from justice. He will be returned to Lawrence for arraignment on the murder charge. No date has been set at this time.
“I’m very pleased with the outcome of this situation, getting a dangerous person off the streets is always our priority,” Manchester Chief Carlo Capano said. ”Working seamlessly with our federal and local partners is always beneficial to our communities.”
Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett and Lawrence Police Chief Roy Vasque also expressed their appreciation to the investigative team for apprehending the suspect quickly and without further danger to the public.
