UPDATE: Man wanted for firing shots on Lake Ave., hitting U.S. mail truck, in custody

UPDATE: On Wednesday February 21, Officers responded to 375 Lake Avenue for a reported shooting. The intended victim was not hit but did identify the shooter as Keenan Velasquez. Detectives prepared an arrest warrant for Velasquez, 20, for attempted first-degree assault. On Thursday February 22, Velasquez turned himself in at Manchester Police Department. Velasquez will be arraigned in Hillsborough County Superior Court North on March 8, 2018.

MANCHESTER, NH – A resident of 375 Lake Ave. was working on his vehicle at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Feb. 21 when a man fired several rounds from a gun at him. The victim claimed to have known the suspect, identified by police as Keenen Velasquez, 20, of Manchester, who is now wanted by police for attempted first-degree assault.

The reporting party, a 36 year-old man, was not injured as a result of the attempted assault, but officers did locate a damaged United States Postal Service truck parked in front of 395 Lake Ave. Officers located a bullet hole in the rear passenger fender of the unattended mail truck.

Detectives prepared an arrest warrant for Velasquez. He is approximately 5-foot-10 inches tall, 200 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. He is wanted for first-degree assault (attempted).
