During a fight outside the Spruce Street night club police were called to assist a 30-year-old man who was stabbed multiple times resulting in very serious injuries, including paralysis.  Broadus was initially apprehended by Manchester Police following this fight and was charged with a misdemeanor offense of resisting arrest. Hewas detained on a 72-hour probation hold at the Hillsborough County Jail while the investigation into the stabbing continued.

Broadus was given bail on the resisting arrest charge.

On March 5 Manchester Police Department concluded their investigation into the stabbing and had prepared an arrest warrant charging Broadus with attempted murder and being a felon in possession of a weapon.  During the early afternoon investigators made an inquiry as to Broadus’ status at the Hillsborough County Jail, and it was learned that Broadus was no longer in custody.  The Manchester Police Department requested the immediate assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s – NH Joint Fugitive Task Force to locate and arrest Broadus.

The task force quickly mobilized and determined that Broadus was likely residing in Methuen, Mass. with a girlfriend. On Thursday night Deputy U.S. Marshals and task force officers from both NH and Massachusetts, along with the Methuen Police Department, went to an apartment in the 70 block of Mystic Street.  The apartment door was forced open after several attempts to get Broadus to come to the door failed.  Broadus was located inside of the apartment and arrested without further incident.

After the arrest, Broadus was turned over to the Methuen Police Department.  Broadus was charged with an outstanding Massachusetts warrant for assault and battery with a deadly weapon, as well as being a fugitive from justice on the outstanding NH warrant for attempted murder and being a felon in possession of a deadly weapon.

Broadus will be held at the Essex County Jail pending his initial court appearance on these outstanding charges and his eventual return to NH.

Several member agencies of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force made this arrest possible, including the Manchester & Methuen Police Departments, Essex County Sheriff’s Department along with deputy US Marshals.
