Driver with bad inspection faces drug charge after officer gets whiff of pot
Bad inspection leads to drug possession charge after driver found with 22 grams of pot in his car.

MANCHESTER, NH – A city man who was pulled over for a bad inspection sticker was arrested for possession of marijuana, after the officer who pulled him over caught a whiff of “fresh marijuana” coming from his car.
Manchester Officer Andre Smith of the Patrol Division saw Joshua Lessard operating his vehicle in the area of Auburn and Lincoln streets with a bad inspection sticker at about 2 p.m. on Feb. 4, so he pulled him over.
According to the police affidavit, Officer Smith said he immediately noticed a “very strong distinct odor of fresh marijuana” as he approached Lessard’s car. He questioned Lessard, who allegedly retrieved approximately 22 grams of marijuana (slightly less than 1 ounce), from the back seat of his car.
Lessard was taken into custody without incident and charged with possession of a controlled drug.
