Man dead after being ejected in single-vehicle crash on I-293
Police said it does not appear that speed was a factor in this crash, however the crash remains under investigation. It is unknown if drugs, alcohol or driver distraction were factors in this crash.
MANCHESTER, NH – A Manchester man died from serious injuries sustained after he was ejected from his truck in a single-vehicle crash Saturday on I-293.
According to NH State Police Matthew Allard, 36, of Manchester, was traveling north on 293 at about 11:20 a.m. when he lost control of this 2009 Chevy 2500 pick-up truck near Exit 4 and left the roadway, veering into the right shoulder. Police said after traveling for a distance on the shoulder, Allard’s truck reentered the highway and traveled across both lanes, striking the center median concrete barrier. Allard was ejected from the truck on impact and sustained serious injuries. He was taken to Elliot Hospital where he died from his injuries a short time later.
A friend of the family confirmed that Matt Allard is the son of Ray “Chip” Allard, and grandson of Raymond M. Allard, founder of Ray the Mover, a well-known local third-generation moving business, for which Matt served as president, according to the company website.

State police from Troop B were assisted by members of the NH State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Unit, Manchester Fire & Rescue Department, NH Department of Transportation, and NH Medical Examiner’s Office.
