Man dead after early morning shooting on Amherst Street
Police were dispatched to the apartment at about 4:08 a.m. where they discovered the body of a deceased male. He has not been identified by police, and autopsy results are pending before the cause and manner of death are known.


MANCHESTER, NH – A man was found shot dead inside an apartment at 170 Amherst St. early Tuesday morning.
Police were dispatched to the apartment at about 4:08 a.m. where they discovered the body of a deceased male. He has not been identified by police, and autopsy results are pending before the cause and manner of death are known.
The case is being handled jointly by Manchester Police and the NH Attorney General’s officer under the direction of Jeffery A. Strelzin, Senior Assistant Attorney General and Chief of the Homicide Unit.
Police have located a person of interest in the case, and continue to investigate the events leading up to the shooting.
There does not appear to be any risk to the public as a result of this incident, police said.
