Man charged in Dec. 12 shooting, found with stolen gun, heroin, oxy
After the arrest of Christopher Martinez for a Dec. 12 shooting a search was conducted of the van he was in and detectives located several items including: a .380 caliber handgun (stolen out of Florida); heroin (53.4 grams); five separate prescription pills including oxycodone.
MANCHESTER, NH – Police have arrested a city man in connection with a shooting incident at 12:40 a.m. on December 12, 2014 in which a woman was shot in the shoulder during a confrontation at her Merrimack address.
Members of the newly commissioned Urban Violence Working Group took part in the investigation operation to locate and arrest the suspect, Christopher Martinez, 21, of Manchester, who was located during a motor stop on I-93 at Exit 6 around 6 p.m. on Dec. 13. Martinez was the passenger in a 2003 Ford Windstar minivan.
A search was conducted of the vehicle, and detectives located several items including: a .380 caliber handgun (stolen out of Florida); heroin (53.4 grams); five separate prescription pills including oxycodone.
Martinez was charged on a warrant with first degree assault; possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute; three counts of possession of a controlled drug; and receiving stolen property and violation of bail stemming from a stabbing incident, which occurred on May 7, 2014.
According to police, on May 7, 2014 a 38-year-old man was stabbed by a “group of men” he did not know in the area of Beech and Green streets. The man was repeatedly stabbed in the torso and face, and he required surgery due to the extent of the injuries.
Martinez was scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 15. A bail revocation hearing will take place on December 16. in the 9th
Members of the of the US Department of Justice US Marshal’s Task Force, detectives from the Manchester Special Enforcement Division-Special Investigative Unit and other detectives assigned to the Investigative Division took part in surveillance and apprehension of Martinez.
