Welcome to your new obsession: The Queen City Baton – think of it as a social media window into the world as we here in Manchester know it.
As you know, social media really got rolling in 2004 with the launch of Facebook. Two years later, Twitter happened, and from there, all sorts of other social media platforms started popping up. Since then, technology has truly connected the world – through tweets, status updates, video gaming, live streams, You-Tubers, filtered imagery and more. This is the beginning of the new age. And, spoiler alert: This next decade will be like no other.
Deep down inside we all secretly vie to be the next overnight social media sensation, especially when anything, ANYWHERE can go viral. Remember the Ice bucket challenges? What about PSY & his Gangnam Style? Or those funny Harlem Shake videos? See, all of these are memorable for their popularity on the internet. Well now it’s time we introduce something as cool, if not cooler! Our newest project called, “The Queen City Baton!”
No, it’s not an original idea.
What is the Queen City Baton?
It is our new Instagram-based project, where every day a new resident of Manchester, NH, can take over the Instagram account a.k.a. “Passing the Baton” and have total freedom to show the world Manchester through his or her perspective. This collaborative project will showcase the daily lives of local instagram users & their favorite places to go, eat or hang out at! QC Baton holders will post up to 10 pictures, and the goal for the Baton holder is to give us a little story behind each photo. The world will see your photos, so don’t be shy, give it some life!
