In praise of the 2019 100% Clean Economy Act

We continue to see the dangerous impacts of the growing climate crisis hurting communities here in New Hampshire and across the country. We know our future is on the line and that we’re running out of time to act. That’s why we need bold action to curb carbon emissions, protect our health, and create clean energy jobs. Luckily, Reps. Annie Kuster and Chris Pappas just helped to introduce a bill that would begin to address the climate crisis by moving America to a 100 percent clean energy economy.

The 100% Clean Economy Act puts the United States on track to achieve net-zero carbon pollution by 2050. This bill has the potential to help communities of color and low-income communities by both protecting them against worsening air pollution and climate impacts as well as creating clean jobs and economic opportunities. We can’t afford to slow down now – and I am grateful for our leaders in Congress like Reps. Annie Kuster and Chris Pappas who are fighting to cut carbon emissions and protect our future.
