‘Hot spot’ patrol leads to arrest of man with heroin and needle
Anthony Alderete resisted arrest and was found to be in possession of heroin, a needle and a cotton ball saturated with heroin.
MANCHESTER, NH – Police arrested a man in possession of heroin during a crime “hot spot” patrol Thursday night.
At approximately 5:35 p.m. Oct. 15 Officers Pete Flanagan and John Connors observed two men huddled together in the area of Union and Myrtle streets (South Alley) who the officers determined were acting suspiciously, so they approached the two men while operating a fully marked police cruiser.
One of the men remained in the middle of the alley when the officers exited their police car, but the other man immediately walked away from them. Officer Connors spoke with the man standing in the alley while Officer Flanagan continued to call out to the second man, later identified as Anthony Alderete, 44, of Manchester, who continued to walk away from the officers. Alderete walked toward a Dumpster and discarded a beer can before returning to the area where he was originally standing with the other man.
Alderete was placed him into handcuffs and arrested, charged with resisting detention and a search incident prior to his arrest led to the discovery of 1.2 grams of heroin, a needle and a cotton ball saturated with heroin. Alderete was released on bail and is set to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on November 19, 2015. The other man was not charged.
