Hooksett double-homicide: Man allegedly killed couple, stole their car then killed himself

HOOKSETT, NH – Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Christopher J. Wagner, and Hooksett Police Chief Janet Bouchard announce additional information regarding an ongoing investigation into a double-homicide that occurred in Hooksett.

An autopsy was performed on Feb. 7 on both June Cosma, 79, and Thomas Cosma, 80, by Dr. Kristin Roman. Dr. Roman determined that the cause of death for Ms. Cosma was blunt force trauma to the head and that the manner of death was homicide. Dr. Roman determined that the cause of death for Mr. Cosma was blunt force trauma to the head and that the manner of death was homicide.

On February 3, 2019, police in Andover, Mass., engaged in a high-speed chase with a car near the Andover and Lawrence town line. The car evaded officers and was later discovered abandoned in Lawrence. The car was registered to June and Thomas Cosma of Hooksett.

On Feb. 4 an individual matching the description of the driver of the car in the police chase was found deceased of apparent suicide in close proximity to where the Cosmas’ car was found. According to the Eagle Tribune,  the body of Zachary Gloudemans, 34, was found hanging in a wooded area in Andover along the Merrimack River near the Lawrence line.

Based on this information, the Hooksett Police were requested to perform a welfare check on the Cosmas, and discovered them deceased inside their home.

The investigation revealed that Mr. Gloudemans had been staying at a residence in close proximity to the Cosmas’ house in Hooksett and those who had interacted with him noticed recent signs of drug abuse. Based on the facts and circumstances of the investigation, this matter is currently being investigated as likely murders (Mr. and Mrs. Cosmas) and then suicide (Mr. Gloudemans). Further information will be released when the investigation is complete.
