Homicide investigation: 911 call leads Derry police to woman, 74, shot dead
Upon arrival at the home, responding officers discovered a resident of the home, Ellen Munstis, age 74, deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.


DERRY, NH – Derry detectives are conducting a homicide investigation in conjunction with the state Attorney General’s office and State Police at 151 Bypass 28 in Derry in which an elderly woman was shot dead.
At approximately 12:03 a.m. on August 10, 2019, Derry Police received a 911 call from the residence at 151 Bypass 28 in Derry. Upon arrival at the home, responding officers discovered a resident of the home, Ellen Munstis, age 74, deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has scheduled Mrs. Munstis’s autopsy for 9 a.m. on Sunday, August 11, 2019.

At this time, this appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no threat of danger to the public. Additional information will be released as it becomes available while still maintaining the integrity of the investigation. An update is expected Sat. afternoon.
