The Hawks took three wins from four contests at the American International Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

Saint Anselm began Friday with a three-set victory over Assumption before ending the night with a four-set victory over American International.

Senior Catie McCarthy (Warrenton, Va.) tallied 37 kills on Friday, adding another 24 on Saturday to climb over 900 for her career.

Braden Zamore became Saint Anselm’s all-time winningest head women’s volleyball coach with the Assumption win, his 68th.

The Hawks will face Bridgeport for the final time this season on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. in Stoutenburgh Gymnasium.

Men’s Soccer

A 90th minute goal broke Saint Anselm’s four-game winning streak, which ended in a 2-1 loss to Bentley on Saturday.

Junior Taylor Silverstein (Concord, N.H.) scored the Hawks’ only goal off a redirected free kick from senior Nick Heckt (South Windsor, Conn.)

The Hawks return to Melucci Field for a matchup against Stonehill on Wednesday, Sept. 25. The game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start.

Women’s Soccer

The women also only had one goal on Saturday, falling 4-1 to Post.

That goal came in the 87th minute thanks to senior Caly Farina (Southbury, Conn.), ending Post’s attempt at a clean sheet.

Now 3-1-2 on the year, the Hawks travel to West Haven, Conn. for another Northeast-10 matchup against the University of New Haven on Tuesday, Sept. 24. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
