Gunfire causes gas leak on Cedar Street

Manchester police believe an early morning gas leak at 271 Cedar Street was caused by gunfire.

MANCHESTER, NH –Manchester police believe an early morning gas leak at 271 Cedar Street was caused by gunfire. On Sunday,  May 1, at approximately 1:55 a.m. police responded to call of a gas leak on Cedar Street and found several shell casings near a gas line on the east side of the building.

Manchester Patrol Officers Martens and Donovan spoke with residents of 271 Cedar Street and several stated they heard gunfire moments before the smell of natural gas emitted was into the air.

The building at 271 Cedar Street was temporarily evacuated until the gas meter was shut down.  No one was injured during the incident and there is no additional information at this time.
