Fun with rail maps: See NH Senate Transportation member ratings by BIA, AFP

MANCHESTER, NH – On March 10th, the NH House, in a surprise floor amendment, stripped funding for the Capitol Corridor commuter rail project from the 2016 Transportation Bill.

How our state representatives voted was mapped last week. The bill is now in the Senate Transportation Committee, which may vote to re-amend the bill to restore rail funding.

A new map displays the members of the NH Senate Transportation Committee, their districts, and their ratings from the New Hampshire Business & Industry Association (BIA) and from Americans for Prosperity (AFP), as reported by Project Vote Smart.

The BIA includes in their 2016 priorities, “Advocate for investment in multi-modal transportation systems as well as New Hampshire’s road and bridge network.” However, BIA has not publicly endorsed the Capitol Corridor project. Americans for Prosperity have lobbied against the Capitol Corridor project in the past.
