Storm update: Icy conditions and wintry mix with more on the way
A complex storm system will impact the area and a winter weather advisory remains in effect through Tuesday at 1 p.m.

MANCHESTER, NH — A slow-moving low-pressure system will spread a mix of precipitation types across the region through 1 p.m. Tuesday. A mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain is expected across southern New Hampshire, with snow and sleet elsewhere. This will result in slippery travel Monday and Tuesday for many areas, according to the most recent update by the National Weather Service.
The city of Manchester issued a snow emergency, which means no parking on city streets between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
What to expect:
Wet snow and some sleet. Additional snow accumulations of 1 inch for a storm total of 2 to 6 inches depending on region. This forecast includes interior Rockingham, Eastern Hillsborough and Coastal Rockingham counties.
The warning is in effect until 1 p.m. Tuesday. Expect slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.
An Airport Weather Warning for ground operations at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport in effect until 4 p.m. due to periods of freezing rain, sleet and snow. Precipitation will pick up in intensity Monday afternoon. You can check arrivals and departures for MHT here. Logan Airport (BOS) is also showing some delayed flights. If you have travel plans, it’s always best to check with your airline.
The NH Department of Transportation issued the following notice early Monday.
Based on this long duration-mixed precipitation type of event you will see some snow on roadways. It is there for traction. Please remember to clear your car of all snow and ice. Make sure you have plenty of gas and windshield wiper fluid. Good tires with good tread are important. Drive slow. Leave distance between yourself and other cars. The safest place to be is home. The next safest is behind a plow. So please be careful and get behind NHDOT. We are the ones in orange.
