Expand your world view: World Affairs Council hosting 6 cultural programs in March
The organization, part of a national network of over 90 similar groups, informs communities on foreign policy and world affairs, enriches global education for teachers and students, and connects New Hampshire with international visitors.
MANCHESTER, NH – Manchester residents can broaden their horizons with the free or low-cost public programs offered by Manchester-based World Affairs Council of NH. Program locations vary. Click the links below to register and ensure there is a seat for you. There are six programs in March:
Thursday, March 1, 7 p.m. – International Women’s Day film “First They Killed My Father” Women’s Center, Green Student Center SNHU
- Monday, March 5, 6 p.m. – Global Tipping Points with Jake Sullivan; foreign policy approach under the current administration, UNH Manchester.
- Wednesday, March 7, 7 p.m. – Crossroads Film & Discussion Series: “The Breadwinner,” Red River Theatres, 11 S Main St, Concord
- Sunday, March 11, 10 a.m. – 2018 NH Academic WorldQuest contest for high school teams. Manchester motivational speaker Deo Mwano will provide the keynote. The winning team will go to Washington, DC to complete in the national competition. Southern NH University
- Monday, March 12, 6 p.m. – Welcoming Refugees, Involving the Local Community: Experiences from Germany, 72 Concord St., Manchester

World Affairs Council also hosts 45 to 50 international visitor groups yearly on topics such as government, women’s rights, and judicial reform. These groups travel to Washington, D.C., and three other cities to meet their professional counterparts and other Americans.
In March, seven people from Belarus will come to New Hampshire to find out about how higher education in the state is leveraging technology to increase positive educational outcomes, and four people from Kyrgyzstan will visit to learn about healthcare in the state and the efforts of nonprofits to improve the systems and policies.

Members host international visitors, travel together, get involved in education programs, and support the group financially.
