Department of Corrections staff recognized for extraordinary service

New Hampshire Department of Corrections Commissioner Helen Hanks recognized staff at the New Hampshire Correctional Facility for Women, and the Shea Farm Transitional Housing Unit, with special citation bars honoring them for professionalism and devotion to duty.

Department of Corrections staff recognized for extraordinary service

CONCORD, NH – New Hampshire Department of Corrections Commissioner Helen Hanks recognized staff at the New Hampshire Correctional Facility for Women, and the Shea Farm Transitional Housing Unit, with special citation bars honoring them for professionalism and devotion to duty.

At the New Hampshire Correctional Facility for Women, Commissioner Hanks accompanied by Warden Joanne Fortier  presented Corrections Officer Leandro Sosa with a Life Saving citation bar for actions performed June, 2017. Corrections Corporal Aisha DiGregorio, Corrections Officer John M. Singletary, Corrections Officer Sean Thompson, and Registered Nurse Jenny Stillman received Team Commendation bars for their roles in aiding Officer Sosa. This was Corporal DiGregorio’s second Team Commendation.

Corrections Sergeant Athena Panas and Supervisor Denise McKeen were presented Life Saving citation bars for actions performed November, 2017. This was Sergeant Athena Panas’ second Life Saving citation bar.

At the Shea Farm Transitional Housing Unit, Commissioner Hanks accompanied by Director Kimberly MacKay, and Program Administator Christine LeClerc presented Corrections Sergeant Jennifer Delacy and Corrections Officer Raymond Nolin with Life Saving citation bars for actions performed July, 2017.

The quick actions of these Officers and Staff, combined with their dedication to duty and willingness to work together helped prevent what would have been tragic situations. Their actions demonstrated the compassion and professionalism we’re so proud of within the Department of Corrections.


The Department of Corrections has five different citation bars that can been awarded to staff for their extraordinary accomplishments: The Medal of Honor, Life Saving, Honorable Service, Line of Duty, and the Team Commendation.
