I am deeply concerned about the future of Liberty House under the current staff.

Stand up. Speak up. It’s your turn.

I am deeply saddened to read the veteran’s experience at Liberty House.
No veteran, ever, should be subject to that treatment! Having volunteered at Liberty House all last year, I did not experience this treatment of veterans, but I cannot deny that it happened. Veterans and non-veterans alike came through the doors continually for supplies (clothing and food) and we tried to meet all their needs … this included bedding, blankets, tents, sleeping bags, shoes, dishware, cookware, utensils, you name it.
I have witnessed the transition of leadership and the decline in compassion toward our veterans, unfortunately. The “old” director was a veteran, and demonstrated his concern for our veterans. The new staff consists of no veterans, except for “The Admiral” in the front office, who admittedly is a very special person and the very heart of Liberty House.
I am deeply concerned about the future of Liberty House under the current staff. I left after feeling under-appreciated, under-valued, and under-respected. This does not bode well for other volunteers. I hope things take a turn for the better with a new leadership.
