MANCHESTER, NH –  The public is invited to attend the 8th Annual Homeless Persons’ Memorial Vigil. The event is organized by Catholic Medical Center’s Healthcare for the Homeless in partnership with the City of Manchester Health Department, Families in Transition, Hope for New Hampshire Recovery, the New Hampshire Coalition to End Homelessness and the Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester.

  • Date: Friday, December 20, 2024
  • Time: 6 p.m.
  • Location: Veteran’s Memorial Park, Manchester

This annual vigil honors those who died while living homeless in the city of Manchester over the previous year and takes place on or around the Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year to recognize Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day. It reflects the challenges faced by those without shelter.

During the vigil, luminaries will be lit in remembrance of these individuals. Similar observances will take place in communities across the state and the nation.

The program is expected to last approximately 20 minutes.

The vigil is an opportunity for the community to come together while raising awareness for those who are without a permanent home in our city.
