MANCHESTER, NH — An opening reception for M.A.P. Vol. 9 – Music, Art, and Poetry will be held Thursday, December 12 from  7-9:30 p.m. at Jupiter Hall, located downtown at 89 Hanover St.

The reception will be an evening of live music, visual art, poetry and spoken word showcasing the theme of Environments: From Landscape to Mindscape. Artwork from over 30 local artists will be on display featuring artists Jason Bagatta and friends from Manchester’s local arts community. Poets and musicians slated to perform are Kayla Marie, James Pappas, Julie Marie Hoey, Paul Davidson, Justice McDaniel, James O’Brien and more.

Works from diverse artists range from traditional approaches to landscape and cityscape to the abstract layering of the human psyche and scale of emotions, or surreal imagery portraying fantastic realms and microscopic worlds. The intention is to represent the multiplicity of environments we inhabit.

“Environment:”

1) the circumstances, objects, or conditions by which one is surrounded. 2a) the complex of physical, chemical, and biotic factors (such as climate, soil, and living things) that act upon an organism or an ecological community and ultimately determine its form and survival. 2b) the aggregate of social and cultural conditions that influence the life of an individual or community.

M.A.P. Volume 9 Environments: From Landscape to Mindscape will be on display from through January 10, 2020.
