Central High School in lockdown, ‘no danger to students’

STORY UPDATE: 3 p.m:

According to Manchester Police Sgt. Brian O’Keefe, police responded to a call from a woman who alleged a crime occurred at 279 Concord St., and believed it to be a hostage situation. Neither allegations had any merit, O’Keefe said.

Central High School was placed in lockdown based on the fact the address was two blocks away. Manchester SWAT arrived on scene as a precautionary measure. Three people were detained but no arrests were made.

Police said the woman who called in initially may now face criminal charges for making a false report to law enforcement.

Original story: An alert was issued by Manchester School district at about 11:45 a.m. alerting the public that Central High School is in lockdown as a precaution due to Manchester Police activity on Maple Street. A SWAT team was called in, but school officials say  is precautionary, and no students are in danger.

We’ll update the story as more information becomes available.
