Beech Street School to remain closed the rest of the week after frozen coil led to flooding
Voting on Nov. 3 is still a go despite flooding to parts of the first and second floors.

MANCHESTER, NH – School officials have closed Beech Street School for repairs after discovering a water problem in the building Monday morning that resulted in flooding.
After evaluating the problem, school officials announced late Monday that the building will remain closed to students for the remainder of the week. Elections will still take place at the school as planned Nov. 3, but students will do remote learning until further notice.
According to school district Communication Director Andrew Toland, a coil in a rooftop unit froze and burst, flooding the second floor, first floor and basement in the area of the lobby. The gym and kitchen were not affected. The lobby will be cleaned and sanitized in preparation for voters.
Students will still be able to pick up meals on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
