MANCHESTER, NH — Ashley Boie, 19, of Manchester, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 15, 2016, at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, surrounded by her loving family following a lengthy struggle with cancer.
Born in Methuen, MA, she is the daughter of Randy and Tracy (Wagner) Boie. A former student at Manchester High School West, Ashley was surrounded with wonderful friends and laughter throughout her four years there.
A beloved daughter and friend, Ashley cherished time spent with her family and friends. Since childhood, she attended horseback riding camps and later became an experienced rider, showing horses at local competitions. Ashley loved to surround herself with music; playing the violin and singing a capella.
She was a huge fan of Recycled Percussion and became a member of Legacy X, created by its founding member, Justin Spencer. As a result, Ashley gained a wonderful extended family of Legacy X members. She participated in a national anti-bullying campaign as well as being involved in many charity events. In her spare time, she enjoyed arts and crafts, photography, and painting parties with her friends.
With the everlasting love and support of her family and friends, Ashley gathered much strength for her fight with cancer and overcame countless battles on a daily basis. Her positive attitude was a ray of sunshine for her family and the new friends she made during her treatment. During her struggles, Ashley found great comfort in the horses at SkyFire Farms, especially Majiek, a beautiful older Arabian, and her furry companions at home; her dog, bunny, and four cats. Ashley will be best remembered for her bright smile, generous heart, and zest for life.
