WINDHAM, NH – Michael Kendell, 28, of Greenfield, Mass., was arrested Jan. 24 following a single-car crash on I-93 in Windham. Police say Kendell lost consciousness while driving, due to an apparent heroin overdose, which caused him to crash into a guard rail.

At approximately 12:42 p.m. State Police Trooper Aaron Richards of Troop B was on patrol along Interstate 93 in the Town of Windham when he was dispatched to a single motor vehicle crash.

A 2004 tan Nissan Sentra operated by Kendall had crashed into the guard rail and his Sentra came to a stop in the breakdown lane north of Exit 3.

Kendall was found unconscious and not breathing. Police said Trooper Richards discovered that Kendall had allegedly used heroin about 30 minutes prior to the crash. Derry Fire/EMS arrived on the scene and revived Kendall using Narcan. Kendall was taken to Parkland Medical Center in Derry where he was arrested and charged with operating after suspension and reckless driving.

He is due to appear in Salem District Court on March 11, 2015 at 8 a.m.
